Ten Years and going strong!!
On May 15th KCCL celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a cheerful sangha gathering including a slide show and many stories from the past. During the event we received wonderful messages of support and encouragement from His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and Ani Pema Chodron. It was powerful time to reJlect on the efforts and energy from so many sangha members who have made KCCL not only possible but thriving. Thank you to everyone.
The Hybrid “Dharmastorm” of the Vajrayogini Druppa, Chakrasamvara Feast and Shamatha-Vipashyana Mahamudra Retreat Spreads Delight in Halifax and Beyond
Old and new Vajrayogini practitioners conducted a very “rich” and well-attended seven day hybrid Vajrayogini Druppa—including inspiring talks by the Dorje Loppön Lodro Dorje and Gelong Lodrö Sangpo, as well the traditional construction of a sandmandala and training sessions in making a sindura mandala and tormas, as well as damaru play, etc. Auspiciously, Khenpo Tenkyong also arrived at KCCL at the time of dismantling the Vajrayogini sandmandala. The next day, Khenpo led a beautiful ceremony at Horseshoe island Park where we returned in a procession the sand from the Vajrayogini mandala to the Ocean.
KCCL 10th Anniversary Celebration
The hybrid festivities included messages from our spiritual advisors, a slideshow of the history and vision of KCCL, the Guru Yoga practice of “Calling the Guru from Afar”, a brief presentation of our Capital Campaign (ending mid June) thank-you-s to all the teachers and the many people without whose support and participation we would not have been able to pursue our Mahasangha vision, and of course snacks and drinks.
We received dear and heartfelt messages from Ani Pema, and from Dzogchen Pönlop Rinpoche, which you can watch here: Address by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, and from His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, which you can watch here: Address by His Holiness Karmapa.
