Vajrayogini Abhisheka & Training
May 30th—June 4th
At the end of May, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche will confer the Vajrayogini Abhisheka to qualified recipients at the Halifax Shambhala Centre. The empowerment will be followed by four days of sadhana training.
This empowerment is being conducted and hosted under the auspices of the Open Umbrella initiative of Sakyong Wangmo Diana Mukpo and by the collective efforts of Ocean’s Ngondro Practice Committee, by the Halifax Shambhala Centre, and by Karma Changchub Ling. Ringu Tulku Rinpoche is conferring the empowerment on the request and with the blessing of His Holiness the Seventeenth Gyalwang Karmapa.
First Phase Registration is now open via the Halifax Shambhala Center Website but is presently limited to those receiving the abhisheka for the first time and those coming from away to support the first-time recipients. The registration webpage also provides much important information and links regarding requirements, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, frequently asked questions, etc.
In a few weeks, registration will also open to the general assembly of Vajrayogini sadhakas.
The Trungpa Rinpoche Reading Corner
The following discussion of Vajrayogini is an article which was edited by Carolyn Gimian for inclusion in a catalog for the exhibit “The Silk Route and the Diamond Path: Esoteric Buddhist Art on the Trans-Himalayan Trade Routes.” For the exhibit, Trungpa Rinpoche supervised the design and construction of an actual shrine setup for the practice of the Vajrayogini Sadhana, displayed with all its attendant ritual objects. Some of the material in the article was dictated by Trungpa Rinpoche; some of it was taken from earlier talks he had given. It is material that is not available in any of his other published writings.
The article was included in Volume III, pp. 412–441, of The Collected Works of Chögyam Trungpa. The beginning section of this article is reprinted by arrangement with Shambhala Publications, Inc., Boulder, CO: www.shambhala.com.

Delightful 35th year Parinirvana celebration in the new Mahasangha shrine room at KCCL. After months of preparing for the unveiling of the “I am here — Mukpo” calligraphy, the day finally came and auspiciously coincided with the 35th Parinirvana Day of Trungpa Rinpoche as well as the “last minute” first event in the new Mahasangha shrine room at KCCL. Raising the first traditional Torii gate in Halifax
Very delightful Shambhala Day celebration at KCCL. For whoever missed this lovely event, which included the raising of the first traditional Torii gate in Halifax, here is the URL of Bob Zimmerman’s video of it: https://youtu.be/bgTcGlds70o You can also click on the Torii photo (just above) to start the video. What is a torii? The torii, often painted bright red-orange, demarcates the boundary or transition between ordinary or mundane space and sacred space, or identifies [...]
Message by HH Karmapa on the occasion of the 90th birthday of HE Thrangu Rinpoche
On the occasion of our great spiritual friend Kyabje Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche turning ninety, I would like to express my prayer and aspiration that he may live a healthy life even longer than a mountain’s. There is a sutra that says, “He has built the boat of dharma, beaten the drum of dharma, blown the conch of dharma, raised the banner of dharma, blocked the seeds of samsara, taught the nature of nirvana, cut off [...]
